What is a TRC20 Address and How Does It Work?
A TRC20 address is a unique identifier used to send and receive TRC20 tokens on the TRON blockchain. Like a bank account number, it tells the network where to direct incoming funds.
TRC20 Address Format
Every TRC20 address follows a recognizable format:
- Always begins with the capital letter T
- 34 characters in total
- Uses Base58Check encoding (letters and numbers, no 0, O, I, or l to avoid confusion)

How to Get a TRC20 Address
You need a TRC20-compatible wallet to generate an address. Popular options include:

Sending to a TRC20 Address
When sending TRC20 tokens, always verify that the recipient address starts with T and that you have selected the TRC20 (TRON) network. Sending TRC20 tokens to an ERC20 address (0x...) is a permanent loss — there is no way to recover funds sent to the wrong network.

TRC20 addresses start with T. ERC20 addresses start with 0x. This is the easiest way to distinguish them. Never mix the two — they exist on entirely separate blockchain networks.
Address Security
Beware of address spoofing: scammers sometimes create wallet addresses that share the same first and last few characters as a legitimate address. Always verify the entire address before confirming any transaction, especially for large amounts. Use copy-paste rather than typing addresses manually.
